  15. DeskStation's modular Raptor 3 will soon be shipping with the 
  16. 21164 Alpha CPU module.  No system in the world can be elegantly 
  17. upgraded simply by changing a CPU.  There are too many important 
  18. architectural trade-offs even if the CPU could fit in the same 
  19. socket.  Fast cache memory is so important to a high-speed RISC 
  20. CPU that it must be closely coupled, that's why we chose to make 
  21. modules with both CPU and cache on board.
